A ninth-place finish overall signalled an impressive turnaround for double Australian ProMX MX1 champion Kyle Webster at the Unadilla National, posting an 8-9 moto scorecard at the penultimate round of Pro Motocross 2025 in his second start with Quad Lock Honda.

The day began well for the Western Australian, who set the 10th-fastest time in combined 450MX qualifying at his second of three scheduled American outdoor appearances for this season.

Launching to a top 10 start in moto one, the 29-year-old steadily progressed throughout the race into eighth position after a measured ride on what was a technical, high-speed circuit. Another strong start in moto two had Webster classified seventh, before an early fall relegated him down the order.

In rallying forwards throughout the 30-minute plus one-lap encounter, he was able to climb back to ninth position, and earn P9 overall – far superior to his performance one week earlier at Ironman Raceway.

“This was much better than last weekend,” Webster recalled post-race. “This is closer to where I expect to be. The pace of the top five is tough, and I haven’t raced in this heat for five months, but I’m improving every moto.

“We have one more round before I switch to the 250 for Motocross of Nations (MXoN), and I’m excited to keep building. [I’m] bummed I went down at the beginning of moto two as I was in a good spot, but I’m looking forward to next weekend at Budds Creek.”

Also in the US for the final three rounds, Kiwi Brodie Connolly – all but confirmed to be transferring to America full-time in 2026 – went 16-21 for 20th overall in 250MX, while Charli Cannon broke through for the opening WMX moto victory on her way to second overall on Friday.
