Yamaha Motor Australia press release:
Yamaha Motor Australia (YMA) is pleased to announce the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup will be returning soon to run in conjunction with the high-profile 2025 national AUSX series.
The first event will be held at AUSX on 25 October at Cronulla’s Sharks Stadium, with the second event taking place at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on 22 November 2025. Riders are invited to apply using the official forms and register their interest for the 2025 Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup by 9 September 2025. Applications will then be vetted, and successful entrants will be notified by 30 September 2025.
Racing in front of professional supercross riders and large crowds at national events offers young YZ65 Cup riders the experience of a lifetime. More than just a race series, the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup is a celebration of motocross designed to deliver a unique experience for participants and their families. With unparalleled access to YMA’s professional race teams, each rider is rewarded with memories that will last forever.
The ethos of the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup is to make every rider and their family feel like part of the Yamaha factory race team, courtesy of the unique BLU CRU experience. Open to nine to 12-year-olds, the Cup provides an opportunity to feel what it’s like to be a factory rider for the day.
“YMA has been providing this unique experience since 2018 and it has proved super popular for young guns starting out in the sport,” said YMA Customer Activation Co-ordinator Jake Belford. “It’s great to see former YZ65 Cup riders achieve success at the top level – such as 85cc World Champion Levi Townley. But no matter where they finish, YMA’s goal is for riders to enjoy Kando moments that linger long in the memory. The Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup is not so much about podium places but more about creating memories that last a lifetime.”
By exposing riders to the wider BLU CRU family at the racetrack, YMA aims to keep YZ65 customers riding blue bikes. Yamaha values the safety of all riders and is committed to ensuring the Cup is a fun and rewarding experience. Before submitting an entry, parents are asked to assess their child’s riding skills to determine if they will be comfortable competing on a modified supercross track. All riders must have a current MA licence and submit a riding/racing resumé.
YMA is committed to supporting grassroots dirt bike riding and will ensure the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup receives extensive media coverage. To help your young riders get on the grid, be sure to register interest before 9 September 2025, with all successful applicants to be notified via email or phone before 30 September 2025.
