Australian sensation continues his winning 2025 season.
Victorian Daniel Sanders has continued his exceptional 2025 campaign by clinching the World Rally-Raid Championship, delivering a commanding victory in Portugal to maintain his unbeaten streak this season.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider was in a class of his own during round four, capturing the prologue win, along with three of the five stages, to secure the top position in the rally by 3m40s.
The result seals this year’s title with one round to spare, completing what has been a flawless campaign for the 31-year-old, who also won the 2025 Dakar Rally at the beginning of the year.
“It’s a dream come true to win the world championship,” commented Sanders. “You think about it when you’re a kid, no matter what sport you do, but I chose motorbikes, and it worked out really well. The race here has gone so well, and the bike has been perfect, so a massive thank you to the team for all the hard work they put in.
“It’s very rare to have this sort of consistency in rally as it’s often so unpredictable. But up to now, we’ve put in a perfect season, and we’ll still be aiming to carry that into Morocco. It’s still all sinking in really – I’m happy to get the world championship here in Portugal and hopefully, there’s a lot more to come.”
With Rally Raid Portugal marking his fourth-straight victory of 2025, Sanders will return to action for this year’s final round at the Rallye du Maroc – held in Morocco on the 10-17 October – before preparing for his Dakar Rally title defence.
