Lux Turner and Ryder Malinoski in for 2025 season.
Yamaha’s expanded 250 class line-up for the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship will include the addition of American duo Lux Turner and Ryder Malinoski, with Turner contesting SX2 and Malinoski entering SX3.
Turner, 20, arrives in Australia after finishing 12th in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX)’s 250SMX category as part of AEO Powersports KTM, while also earning 10th in the 250SX West standings this year.
He will compete in the SX2 class with the Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha team, while Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha regular Malinoski – who won the second SMX Next Playoff in St. Louis earlier this month – will form part of Monster Energy WBR Yamaha.
“I’m super-excited to be in Australia and looking forward to racing the entire series with the Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha team,” commented Turner. “My family was in Australia when Lachlan [Turner] raced the women’s motocross event earlier in the year and commented on how well Yamaha had looked after them, so when the opportunity came up, I really wanted to make it
happen.
“So far, things are going well, and the team has been super-professional. We have a few days to get ready for the first round, and I’m super-excited to race in Australia and spend some time down under.”
Yamaha motorsport manager Scott Bishop added: “We are excited to have Lux and Ryder join
our teams for the entire AUSX Supercross Championship. I would like to pass on our thanks to the ClubMX team for trusting us with Ryder, and the Turner family for their support and enthusiasm in this project.
“The addition of Lux and Ryder will only bolster our supercross line-up, which already includes Phil Nicoletti and Mitchell Harrison, racing with Monster Energy CDR Yamaha. The imported riders have had no impact on our domestic riders and we continue to provide support for them – I believe this will only enhance their overseas opportunities in the future.”
Turner joins Australian pair Ryder Kingsford and Jayce Cosford on the official Yamaha SX2 program, while Malinoski will race alongside Ky Woods and Koby Hantis in the SX3 development ranks.
Rounds one and two of the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship will take place at Redcliffe’s Kayo Stadium in Queensland on October 11-12, which commences this year’s five-round series.
