Assortment of international riders underline new-look roster.
Honda Racing has outlined its complete nine-rider team for the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, including an assortment of international riders across SX1, SX2 and the SX3 development category.
With former SX1 champion Dean Wilson previously announced in addition to SX2 contenders Brodie Connolly and Alex Larwood, the entire roster has now formally been named.
Multi-time French champion and supercross specialist Cedric Soubeyras – who finished seventh in the 2022 and 2023 World Supercross standings – enters the premier class alongside Wilson for his first full season in Australia.
Reigning SX1 champion Joey Savatgy won’t defend his Australian championship this year, instead focusing on the World Supercross Championship alongside the newly-signed Christian Craig at Quad Lock Honda. It’s unclear if they will make any one-off AUSX appearances.
SX2 will be led by American Shane McElrath, the defending champion listed in Honda’s line-up in addition to World Supercross despite a clash between the Adelaide Grand Final and the Australian GP on the Gold Coast in late November. Connolly also faces the same dilemma – a decision to be made on their prospects at a later date.
Also in SX2 domestically, Wilson Todd is stepping back from the 450 class for AUSX, with highly-rated Australian international Tiger Wood a new addition following a standout year in the American-based SMX Next program.
Honda Racing’s SX3 line-up will include ProMX MX3 title-winner Kayd Kingsford, with Queensland teenager Jet Alsop also drafted into the factory-backed organisation for the upcoming supercross season.
This year’s Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship will span five rounds, with the season commencing within Redcliffe’s Kayo Stadium on October 11-12.
